I assist individuals of all ages in improving executive function. My approach here is guided by the training undertaken with Dr Erica Warren, co-host of The Personal Brain Trainer Podcast: Embodying Executive Functions.
Executive function has often been described as “the management system of the brain”. It is a set of mental skills that includes working memory, cognitive flexibility and inhibitory control. Executive function skills are essential for managing and regulating various aspects of behaviour, thoughts, and emotions. They help individuals plan, organise, initiate, monitor, and adjust their actions in order to achieve goals and solve problems.
Crucial for long term success in academic, personal and professional life, teaching these skills is imperative for many areas of daily living when it comes to self-care, and more complex tasks such as meal preparation, money management, shopping and household chores.
I have completed the Advanced Social Thinking® Training which can assist individuals with social thinking challenges and difficulties.
“When children have opportunities to develop executive function and self-regulation skills, individuals and society experience lifelong benefits. These skills are crucial for learning and development. They also enable positive behavior and allow us to make healthy choices for ourselves and our families.”
